Firstie News

 In Uncategorized

Dear Parents,

How are you? First grade has been flowing with new work.

This week, our class has spent time reading and discussing Martin Luther King, Jr. Next week, we will deep dive into a book study about MLK. Math has been exciting with our 100 Day Celebrations. Firsties were upset with receiving 100 fluency facts this week. At home, please work with your child about mastering basic addition and subtraction facts. These skills will be used heavily in second grade and I am sure your child will be happy knowing these facts next year.

February is around the corner and I know that Valentine’s Day is hot topic. If you are looking to pre-plan for this holiday, then please keep in mind students can bring cards and non-food items. As per our school policy, students are unable to bring candy and nut treats to the classroom. Thank you!
