April News!

 In Uncategorized

Dear Parents,

How are you? I am so excited about the spring and the upcoming San Tan events. There is so much fun around the corner.

Our class has been discussing insect vocabulary and their life cycles. The class is also drawing diagrams about the life cycles. For math, our class is wrapping our mini-measurement unit. During our phonics, we are continuing our study of r-controlled vowels- ar, er, ir, or and ur. We are working hard to spell these words, using the phonics work we have learned.

Tomorrow, the Scholastic Book Order is due. There are some great deals and it is a great time to stock up on summer reading.

Stay tuned! During the summer, children will backslide with learning about 20%. In order to sustain and continue learning, first grade will be provided with a summer reading list and how to encourage more learning through books. Keep an eye out for this information!

More Information-

In class, our children  have been writing about Butterfly Wonderland. We finished our writing and they are hanging in the hall. Check it out!

State Testing Information

I have included the testing schedules in this email. Please schedule doctors’ appointments etc. on days where your student is not testing as once a student starts their test, they will need to finish on that same day. If they are signed out early, they will leave their testing incomplete. Thank you for your understanding.

Spring Concert

Date April 20th

Location San Tan Recker Campus Gymnasium

). Students need to arrive 30 minutes before their listed show time. If you have multiple performers please keep them seated with you until their designated showtime (we will have plenty of seating this time!)

Performance Dress is Disney bounding or Disney inspired outfits. Please do not go out and spend a bunch of money on a costume. The idea is to use the everyday clothing found in your closet to represent a favorite character. Please refer to your child’s music teacher if you have any further questions regarding the concert.
