Dear Parents,

How are you? Our firsties are showing lots of growth with reading. It getting to be very exciting in the room, when children share they can now read a book.

For our phonics, the class is learning about the many sounds the letter y makes. We are also reading text and answering comprehension questions. I am so thrilled that the children are writing full sentences. This week in math, our class wrapped up the place value unit. Next week, we will dive into subtraction a bit more. Finally, the class has been writing more details about George Washington and it is so interesting to hear the children talk about new facts.

On April 1st, our class will have a field trip to Butterfly Wonderland. Please be aware that you must complete the information on the provided link. Link- https://yqysjrrxph.formstack.com/forms/butterly_wonderland_1st_grade

Be on the look out for the next sign-up for March Parent-teacher Conferences. I look forward to seeing you then.
