Dear Parents,

How are you/ It was a busy week in first grade. This week, the class was very excited about Valentine’s Day and they were excited to hand-out cards. It was a sweet day.

During our phonics block, our class has been working on long I words. Often, students will confuse long and short vowels, when reading. Please practice this skill and remind your child during reading. By doing so, this extra practice will grow your child’s reading skills.

For math, our first graders are adding two digits. Using place value blocks and 100’s chart has been a big help. They are doing a great job.

Additional Information-

Please remember that school is closed on Monday for President’s Day.
