Dear Parents,

How are you? I can hardly believe the class is reading and writing so much in class.

 

For math, our class has begun geometry- 2d and 3d shapes. We are beginning to explore and learn more about the parts of these shapes. With phonics, our friends are continuing work on diphthongs- oi, ou, ow, aw, oy. In class, I am noticing the children are still struggling with long vowels. Please take a few minutes to practice these long vowels. It will help your child’s reading greatly.

 

Next week, our class will begin our final MAP test. Again, this test is a great check to see what your child has learned this year. Please make sure that your child get enough sleep and a good breakfast. Thank you!

 

Keep in mind that next Friday is a half day. Please make arrangements for your child. Thank you.

State Testing Information

I have included the testing schedules in this email. Please schedule doctors’ appointments etc. on days where your student is not testing as once a student starts their test, they will need to finish on that same day. If they are signed out early, they will leave their testing incomplete. Thank you for your understanding.

 

Lost and Found

Weekly on Wednesday’s we will donate all items left in Lost and Found to Goodwill. Please help your child to collect all their personal items from the Lost and Found area located inside the main building Recker hall across from the Recker library before Wednesday afternoon.
