Dear Parents,
Happy Fall. I am so thrilled that the cooler temperatures have finally arrived. It is great to be able to be outside with cooler air.
For our first week, student are working on our writing nonfiction and they are adding more detail to their work. During math, we are practicing addition and subtraction facts. As most children have mentioned, they are working on this skill at home. If your child seems to master addition facts, then start practicing subtraction next. In class, we are using the computer program call 99math.com The kids are having a great time with this game.
Next week, our class will be ready for the pumpkin patch. My plan is to begin pumpkin curriculum and there are so many class activities. Pumpkin writing, pumpkin vocabulary, and a collage pumpkin are just a few of the projects for next week.
Earlier in the week, I sent home many things for your child. First, there was a passage for our weekly reading fluency. Practice is key for strong reading skills. Secondly, I sent home the pumpkin project. I am sure there are many great ideas. I can’t wait to see the projects at the end of the month.
Finally, there will be a sign-up for the Cultural Fair. The Cultural Fair will be on November 7th and it is a great time for families, showing their traditions.
If there are any questions or concerns, then please feel free to email me.
Have a great night.
