Firstie News
Dear Parents,
All week long, our focus has been Veteran’s Day. We have talked about the military branches, being brave, and how soldiers help us. During math, our class has been focusing on subtracting and adding with different strategies. I have noticed that we are struggling with subtracting. At times, children are mixing up the addition and subtraction sign. I am trying to point this out to the class.
Please keep in mind we are working on hard on our reading and writing skills. It is extremely important that children receive extra practice for these skills. Daily reading practice allows for stronger comprehension skills. According to the article, The Magic of 15 Minutes, more than 15 minutes each day is linked with higher reading success.
