Happy Fall!

 In Uncategorized

Dear Parents,

Happy Fall! In class, we are loving pumpkins, apples, and so much more.  Our stomachs are rumbling with the yummy fall food too!

In class, our first graders are working hard on writing sentences, using capitals and punctuation. We are also trying to figure out nouns, which is a person, place or thing. For math, addition and subtracting have been our focus. The class has been enthusiastic about homework and keep asking for more. This skill is one students must master, as it is a skill that will be built on next year. I am so proud of the class and their hard work.

On October 29th, I need 4 volunteers, who would be willing to help with pumpkin math and science. If you can help in the classroom at 1:30pm, please reach out and let me know. We will have a great time! Thank you!

Literacy Tip- Did you know we are learning to understand different features in a text? For example, a nonfiction book has a table of contents, labels, and vocabulary. It is great to read a mix of literature to support your child’s learning.
