Dear Parents,

Firsties are busy in class. This week, the first graders are learning about Veterans’ Day and how important they are in our community. In class, we have continue to practice sight words and read about habitats. The children are also learning to read books and answer comprehension questions.

Math has been a treat. The children love it and they are asking for more homework. As we continue working on our math facts, we are adding three digits together. The class is loving the challenge.

Literacy Tip-

Put your child in charge of the grocery list, reading the list off as you shop. Using day to day skills will reinforce basic skills for your child. Additionally, your first grader will come to identify items around the house. Reading is being shown in a practical way. Give it a try.

Important Information-

November 12th, 2021 9:00-1:30

WE NEED YOU!

We are working on scheduling our Annual Culture Celebration coming up for November 12th. In years past, we have hosted parent volunteers who host a table to teach students about different cultures. We would love for families to host a table to share artifacts, foods, and stories that reflect your family’s culture.

Please sign up with your name and the country you wish to represent!

Charlie Brown Thanksgiving Dessert Donation

Occurring the day before Thanksgiving, Charlie Brown Thanksgiving is a tradition at San Tan Charter! Dr. and Mrs. Sippel began this tradition in the first Montessori Preschool class with bean soup. The tradition continues for families by bringing their own lunch and eating it picnic style outside as a community and brining desserts to share. The kids love this because this is the one-day sweets are allowed on campus! Please help us!  Peruse our list and bring your favorite treat.

A few reminders: No NUTS, desserts must be baked, defrosted and ready at morning drive lane. There will be volunteers available to collect your dessert at drive lane and walk it over to the cafeteria to be cut.
