Welcome Back News!

Dear Parents,
Welcome to first grade! I am excited about your child and what we will learn together. I want to give you a brief rundown before your child starts on Wednesday, July 28th.

Before arriving at Open House on Monday, July 26th, I am asking that you write your child’s name in black Sharpie on all school supplies before dropping off in the classroom. Secondly, your child will find their seat sack and place it at their designated seat. If there are any special school supplies that your child does not want to share, then it can be placed in the seat sack. It will be a quick transition and things will go smoothly for everyone.

On the first day of school, lunchboxes and backpacks must be labeled with your child’s name. Our class will have lunch at 11:00am and we will have a snack in the afternoon. As per our School Food Policy, it is suggested that your child bring a nut-free healthy snack. Additionally, with the summer heat in mind, I strongly suggest children bring at least 2 water bottles. My hope is to keep everyone hydrated for the day.

For Drop Off-
• Gates open at 8:05. All students will come directly into the classroom
o To ensure the safety and academic success of all students, there will be no outside morning recess.
• Class will begin promptly at 8:30. If you are arriving on campus after 8:30, parents must sign in at the front office and receive a pass to class.

Our partnership is a team effort. Please email any questions or issues that I need to know about. I am more than willing to discuss anything and find a solution that will work best.
